Fancy being a guest blogger?

I get quite a lot of mail from fellow translators who want to discuss aspects of our work or of language. Some of these have made it into the blog, but others aren't so easy to write about, because I haven't yet encountered the particular issues or challenges that they have or because I might not be familiar with the point raised.

I've been thinking recently about how I can make use of these comments and explore them on my blog. I'm not necessarily in a position to write about them, but it seems a waste not to share thoughts and problems like this. On top of this dilemma, I often find that the comments people leave on the site begin new threads that I'd love to develop and are sometimes more interesting than the entries they refer to!

All of this has prompted me to decide to start a "guest blog" on the last Friday of the month here on Naked Translations. If you have an idea that you would like to write about that is in the spirit of this blog, let me know. As an introduction, I asked my friend Kate Smith to write an entry, which will be posted tomorrow. Her "brief" was to write about language with a reference to something discussed on the blog or what was happening in the news last week.
