How I failed NaNoWriMo

In answer to Jean, who asked in the comments how I did at NaNoWriMo: I got to 21,186 words, ran out of steam and ideas, and couldn’t resist our gorgeous winter sunsets. So instead of staying in front of my computer, trying to write 50,000 words in a month, I regularly escaped to the beach at around 4pm to look at the sky.
Can you blame me?
It was still a positive experience and I'm glad I tried. Also, it did me a world of good to spend a couple of weeks writing directly in French every day. I've realised it is something that is really beneficial to my writing skills, so I'm planning on looking for an online writing course that won't mean I'm missing out on glorious sunsets!
