Thank you Laurence for sending me an article about what happens when translators get facetious. Sarkozy, in fact, said "I invite the French people to rally behind me". Bad, bad translator (awful sentence as well, tut tut), and I would NEVER do anything like that. But how funny. Traduttore, traditore…

I read about it in the papers. How impressive. In the end, it was just a joke but well, the man got fired (d'oh). be careful next time.
