Alas, it'll probably be some time before the UK has another PM as gifted as him when it comes to foreign languages.

In my anglo-french household we were delighted to see Monsieur Blair making the effort. Call me daft, but I think there's nothing wrong with the two being pals. I get the impression that M. Sarkozy has been studying reformist models for his future success with France, and (IRAQ controversies aside), I don't thing this is bad news for the long-term future of France.
