Translation and language links

September 3, 2008

Thank you to all the people who sent me interesting links recently. As I will be starting a Spanish course in October at Leeds Metropolitan University, I was particularly interested in palabea, a social network site for practicing and learning foreign languages and my language notebook, a program to keep and organise your notes when you are learning a language.

Four translation blogs also caught my eye: Translation League, anyword (in French! Lovely, such a rarity), the icanlocalize blog and Dispatches from an environmental translator's desk, which links to one of my favourite blogs, discovered recently: separated by a common language, about the differences between British and American English. It is deservedly listed in Lexiophile’s top 100 language blogs.

Finally, a big thank you to Xavier for letting me know about Fry’s English Delight on Radio 4. And Word of mouth is back!
